PHIL PARKINSON is hoping Chester can maintain the positive momentum when they return home tomorrow.
It’s been the ideal opening for the Blues in National League North and they can boast three wins out of three heading into tomorrow’s meeting with Spalding United at the Deva Stadium.
League leaders Chester go into the match-up on the back of their 1-0 success at Darlington in midweek and reflecting on momentum, boss Parkinson (pictured above) told Chester FC TV: “That’s what it’s going to be throughout the season, Whether we’ve won, lost or draw (on Tuesday), we’ve got to bounce back at home or go again at home.
“So, the pressure for playing for Chester is we’ve got to keep the performances up.
“The lads who aren’t playing have got to stay sharp, because as you saw (at Darlington), two lads come in in Connor Murphy and Jacob Hazel, and it’s like they’ve been playing from the start.
“So, we need to make sure the other lads are fit and sharp, and ready to go as well.”
It was a first league start in midweek for Murphy and Parkinson added: “Excellent debut from him.
“Young Academy player, one of Mike Allcock’s, along with Oscar Rosenblatt coming. But, Connor’s made a full debut, lasted 90 as well.
“We were ‘do we keep him on, do we take him off?’. But, I thought he looked so comfortable for large parts of that game.
“That ball he played through for Tom Peers was absolutely what we will see when Connor’s at his best, driving at the midfield, finding them passes and he’s got a goal in him as well.
“So, I think he’s just going to get better and better.”
