PHIL PARKINSON says Chester will leave no stone unturned as they look to continue their promising start to the National League North season this evening.
With two wins out of two, the Blues are sat at the top of the table and next up is this evening’s trip north to tackle mid-table Darlington.
Boss Parkinson told Chester FC TV: “We’ll be as prepared as we can be for every game. So, we’ll do our due diligence, we’ll go over all the information.
“Disseminate it to the players and, hopefully, they’re able to take it on to the levels that they have so far, because the defensive discipline is why they’ve kept clean sheets, as well as their ability to keep the ball at pivotal times in the game.”
Parkinson’s side followed up their 2-1 opening day success at Chorley with a 2-0 home verdict versus King’s Lynn Town on Saturday, moving them into top spot in the table.
Fine goals from Tom Peers and Ma’kel Campbell saw Chester make it six points out of six, which is something Parkinson is obviously pleased with.
He said: “I was delighted and I hope I’m going to be saying that every single week, because it’s been a great start from the players.
“To get six points from two games is no mean feat. It’s not something that I’ve come across easily in my managerial career.
“Starting the season is really difficult at the best of times, especially when you’ve got so many new players coming into a new football club.
“But... I feel like pre-season’s gone as well as we could have hoped and probably myself and Neil (Sorvel) are doing things a little bit better than what we have in the past, and that’s how it should be.
“You should be getting better year-on-year as a management team and that feeds through to the players and the football club, hopefully.”
