STUART SIMMONS is to return to North Wales Crusaders after being appointed as the club’s new head coach.
Simmons has been appointed as the head coach for the 2027 season, with his deal running through to the end of the 2028 campaign, pending approval of a licence for next season.
He previously served as assistant coach under Carl Forster, helping Crusaders to reach the League One grand final in 2023, prior to playing an important role in last season’s title-winning campaign.
Simmons told the club’s website: “I’m delighted to be returning to the club as head coach. This club holds so many great memories for me and will always have a special place in my heart.
“After speaking with (chairman) Jamie (El-Kaleh) and the board, it was clear that we share the same vision for the future.”
Martin Fisher will oversee the first team for the remainder of the current season, providing continuity and stability before Simmons officially takes charge ahead of 2027.
Crusaders return to action in the Championship on Sunday at home to Goole Vikings.
