THERE have been off-field developments at North Wales Crusaders with the appointment of a new head coach.
Mike Grady has returned to the club in that role, with Sean Long being handed the position of head of rugby.
In Grady’s first spell with the club, he led Crusaders to the final of the 2017 iPro Sport Cup, where they lost out to Barrow Raiders.
Chairman Jamie El-kaleh told the club’s website: “Mike understands this club, the area and what North Wales Crusaders means to people.
“He has unfinished business here and we believe he is the right person to help guide us through this next stage.”
Long has been at the helm since the club came under new ownership and he has provided a much-needed steady hand during the return to action in the Championship.
He has been head coach for three games, the most recent of which being an 86-0 loss versus Salford.
This marked new-look Cru’s homecoming and Long said: “I just want to celebrate what was a fantastic day for the club, a packed Eirias with lots of new and old faces around the place creating a special atmosphere and once again emphasising that rugby league is alive and kicking in North Wales.
“I want to personally thank the fans and everyone that contributed to creating a special atmosphere.”
