PHIL PARKINSON is looking forward to the time when he has all his summer signings available.
After securing a record-breaking third successive promotion last season, Parkinson revamped his Wrexham squad for the step-up to the Championship.
Players who helped deliver success at The Racecourse have moved on to make room for 13 new recruits but a number of the fresh faces have been unavailable during the early weeks of the campaign.
George Thomason, Josh Windass and Nathan Broadhead have all spent time on the sidelines but recently returned, Libby Cacace is currently out with a hamstring problem and Danny Ward is facing a lengthy spell out of action after dislocating an elbow.
Factor in the likes of Ben Sheaf, Callum Doyle and Issa Kabore having limited game-time before joining the Reds and are being managed, Parkinson is relishing the chance to have everyone fully fit and available for selection.
"We've signed some good players and people keep saying that to me but I say we haven't had a lot of them on the pitch," said Parkinson.
"We need to get everybody up to speed and I feel when we do that, we've got a squad to compete at this level.
"We're managing these players into the club with minutes.
"It's an understanding of how we want them to play, but also trying to not pick up injuries at this stage of the season.
"Josh, Issa and Ben all came off (in Saturday's 3-2 win at Norwich), Dom Hyam cramped up towards the end so it's a kind of in-game management thing which we've got to be aware of at this stage of the season."
Victory at Norwich was the perfect response to the 3-1 home defeat to QPR and leaves Wrexham 16th in the table with seven points from six games.
Parkinson feels his side are beginning to adapt to life at a higher level but says there is a lot more to come from the Reds who entertain Derby County on Saturday.
"Two wins out of three in the league is good for us," he added.
"We had a setback against QPR but in general, I feel we are finding our way into the league and progressing quite well.
"In this division of such quality, you get setbacks along the way and it is how you respond.
"But the belief in the group has got to be growing. We know we can compete and we are evolving still as a team.
"We are a work in progress and there are improvements to be made."
