Wrexham have offers on table for players ahead of deadline

The Reds boss has completed 10 new signings this summer but remains eager to add to his squad ahead of the 7pm deadline tomorrow evening, with Bristol City defender Zak Vyner among the players linked with a move to north Wales.

But with fresh faces set to come through the door at The Racecourse, it means more departures are expected.

Striker Ollie Palmer, a back-to-back-to-back promotion winner during his time with Wrexham, has left by mutual consent and signed a two-year contract at League Two outfit Swindon Town, and others could follow him out of the door.

Parkinson has to make the numbers add up so it could be a busy end to the transfer window at the club with ins and outs.

After seeing Wrexham pick up a first Championship win of the season by beating Millwall 2-0 at The Den, he said: "There's a few lads may be going, we've got to look at that, and we've had a few offers on the table which we're close to getting agreed.

"If they happen, great, we are pleased because we will always feel there's a few areas we can strengthen.

"But equally if it doesn't, we'll go with what we've got and we've got some good players to come back in that group."

Second half goals from Kieffer Moore and Lewis O'Brien sealed a first league win for Wrexham, who took one point from the opening three matches.

But victory was marred after goalkeeper Danny Ward picked up what looked a serious elbow injury in added time.

The Wales international had to receive lengthy treatment before finally being substituted.

“He’s obviously concussed initially and then he’s damaged his elbow,” added Parkinson.

“He’s in hospital now getting X-rayed and you’ve got to say when the physio tells me it doesn’t look good, then we are fearing the worst, but obviously we haven’t got the definitive answer yet.”
