HOME comforts are the order of the day as Wrexham and Mold continue their quest to beat the drop.
Both sides remain in the bottom-three in Division One North and Mold are currently outside the relegation zone with a seven-point buffer.
However, if they thought things were likely to get easier after last week’s meeting against league leaders Nant Conwy, that’s not really going to be the case.
Mold will entertain second-placed Caernarfon, who are unbeaten in their 12 league matches this season.
Mold head coach Alex Jones said: “It’s probably more competitive this year than it has ever been.
“Credit to Caernarfon. We have played them twice this year and they have got an improved squad.
“It’s nice to see the more competitive side of North Wales rugby. It’s good to see three clubs battling at the top and it’s more competitive than ever.”
Caernarfon trail Nant Conwy by seven points and Pwllheli are also well in the mix for the title.
For Mold, it’s all about accumulating points to remain clear of the bottom-two for the remainder of the campaign.
“It’s keeping on top of those bonus points and play an expansive, exciting game,” added Jones.
“We have created a bit of a buffer, but it’s up to us to keep that.”
Wrexham are preparing themselves for tomorrow’s home meeting with fourth-placed Bala.
Skipper Jack Harrison said: “Saturday brings a new challenge against a strong Bala team that sit fourth in the league.
“Facing the top-two in the last two weeks has probably brought the best out in us, with both games perhaps being closer than the scoreline suggests.
“Our task now is to make sure we back up those performances this weekend and get the win.
“There’s no good in being told that you’re a good side or playing well when you’re not winning games.
“The focus this week is to win and we need to make sure we work hard in training to prepare ourselves to do that.”
Nant Conwy will look to stretch their unbeaten run to 14 games as they head to Bethesda, while Pwllheli, in third, go to Llangefni.
Basement side Denbigh are at home to COBRA and Ruthin entertain Llandudno.
Wrexham Athletic will be hoping to maintain their eight-point advantage at the top of Division Three North East.
Win number 11 for the campaign is the target away to Ruthin Athletic, while Mold Athletic host unbeaten Llanidloes.
Llangollen-based Bro Gwernant welcome Rhosllanerchrugog and the other match sees Denbigh Athletic at COBRA Athletic.
In Division Two North, leaders Welshpool visit Dolgellau, Caernarfon Athletic entertain Abergele and Rhyl & District travel to Teirw Nant Conwy.
RGC will be looking to make it two wins out of two in the Super Rugby Cymru Cup as they head south to tackle Cardiff in Pool A.
To open their cup tilt, RGC claimed a thrilling 54-42 home triumph versus Aberavon.
The other pool match sees Aberavon hosting Bridgend.
Over in Pool B, Pontypool make the trip to Carmarthen Quins, while Swansea have home advantage for their match-up with Newport.
