CONNAH’S QUAY NOMADS have bolstered their ranks with two new additions ahead of the start of the Cymru Premier League campaign.

Goalkeeper George Ratcliffe and Anderson Pinto (pictured) have penned deals with the top flight club.

Former Wales U21 international Ratcliffe began his career with Cardiff City. After leaving the Bluebirds in 2022, he signed for Pontypridd United.

Ratcliffe, who has played for Wales U17s, U19s and U21s, told Nomads’ website: “I’ve been around the Cymru Premier for long enough now to know how good of a side Connah’s Quay Nomads are, so it’s a privilege to have signed for the club.

“Hopefully I can add my quality to the team to achieve as much as we can for Europe and for the upcoming season.”

Ratcliffe, who will wear the number 31 shirt, is available immediately ahead of Quay’s UEFA Europa Conference League campaign.

Pinto is back with the Nomads, having originally joined Quay ahead of the 2022/23 season. He made two starts in the Welsh League Cup and four substitute appearances in the Cymru Premier League prior to his departure in December 2022.

He has since enjoyed spells at Billericay Town, Braintree Town and Bulgarian side Pirin Razlog.

Pinto said: “I’m delighted to return to Connah’s Quay - achieving Europe and enjoying the kind of success they did last season speaks volumes for all involved at the club. I can’t wait to get started, add the qualities I possess and deliver more successes and memories.”

Pinto will wear number 16 and he will be available for selection once international clearance is obtained.
