TWO individuals who helped to make Wrexham women’s first season back in the top flight a memorable one are in the running for major awards.

Boss Steve Dale and midfielder Lili Jones (pictured above) have been short-listed in the FAW National League awards.

Winners will be announced on Saturday, June 8.

Following his hugely successful campaign at the helm, Dale has been nominated for the Adran Premier League manager of the season accolade.

Dale, who guided Wrexham to promotion last season, saw his side end their top flight campaign in third spot, while the Reds also reached the final of the Welsh Cup.

He is up against Gavin Allen (Aberystwyth) and Iain Darbyshire (Cardiff City).

Meanwhile, talented Jones is in the running for the Adran Premier young player of the season award.

During an impressive campaign from the centre of midfield, Jones recorded three goals and nine assists in her 26 appearances.

Other nominees are Cardiff City duo Eliza Collie and Molly Kehoe.

The Bluebirds also have two nominees in the player of the season category, in the shape of Siobhan Walsh and Seren Watkins. The other player short-listed is Swansea’s Katy Hosford.
