ASTON PARK RANGERS narrowly missed out on a double as Broughton United Super Saints snatched an extra-time winner in the U16s Cup final.

Saints’ Jack McCarthy-Hall struck the golden goal to give his side a 3-2 win over Rangers in the final at Holywell Town’s Halkyn Road ground.

Rangers had come back from 2-0 down as Daniel Dobrev and Danny Watson scored late on to cancelled out Samson Price’s double.

But the Saints sneaked it in the end to deny Rangers, whose U15s side stormed to a 4-0 Cup final victory over Rhosddu United.

Lennon Young was the star of the show with a hat-trick while Joshua Hollinshead was also on the scoresheet.

It was a case of jumping Jacks flash in the U14s League.

Jack Parry claimed a five-goal haul as Mold Alex Pumas U14s defeated Deeside Dragons Blaze 8-1, while there were four goals for Jack Jones in Hawarden’s 7-0 success away to Halkyn United.

Oliver Phillips (2) and Ollie Oliver added the others for Hawarden, Owen Hughes, Alfie Campbell and Jack Stevens completed Pumas’ tally and Oliver Roberts netted for Blaze.

Thomas Wright’s hat-trick was crucial to Mynydd Isa’s 6-4 outcome at AFC Flint Cubs, who had Leo Elliott (2), Liam Cappiello and Harry Dare on the mark. Daniel Jones, Lewis Upton and Benjamin Charnley also struck for Isa.

It finished up 3-3 between Broughton United and Connah’s Quay Town. Cody Rimmer, Joshua Carter and Sam Phoenix struck for United, with Austin Wyatt (2) and Max Pritchard securing a point for Town.

Rhys Smith (2), Ewan Williams, Ryan Pearce and Isaac Boon led Mold Alex Panthers to a 5-1 win over Saltney Town (Samuel Olowofela).

Two of the four U13s’ division contests ended up level.

There was a 1-1 draw between Kinnerton Oaks (Campbell McChrystal) and AFC Flint (Nathaniel Lewis), while Broughton United Saints and Mynydd Isa had to be satisfied with a 3-3 result. Milo Payne (2) and Jude Rae netted for Broughton, as Matthew Nowell, Lyle Buxton and Riley Done responded.

Four-goal Charlie Smith was the star of a 9-2 success for Greenfield versus Buckley Town Rovers. Dexter McGilloway (3), Warner Edwards and Max Thomas added to the tally, with Oliver Bentley netting both for Rovers.

Dylan Jones (3), Cian Beech-Moulton (2), Noel Morris, Alexander Davies and Riley Summer found the target as FC Nomads defeated Carmel 8-2. Francis Rimmer and Finlay Merrick were on the mark for the home side.

Turning to the U12s’ section and Matthew Williams scored a hat-trick to help guide Mold Alex Athletic to a thrilling 4-3 win over Mynydd Isa Town. John Hodgson added the other for the victors, as Tomos Phoenix (2) and Zachary Vickers took Isa close.

Saltney Town got the better of Buckley Town 5-2 thanks to Jamal Jumaa (3), Jayden Collister and Jasper Hett, as Zac Hayes and Joshua Healey hit back, and there was a 4-2 win for Holywell Town Comets away to Broughton United Super Saints, who had Rohan Alcock and Isaac Sheen on target. Elliott Mackie (2), Charlie Poole and Gethin Owens won it for Holywell.

Samuel Drury, Max Jones, Jacob Collins and Bailey Davies guided AFC Flint to a 4-1 verdict over Hawarden, who hit back via Charlie Gregory.
