WREXHAM can still clinch runners-up spot in League Two but Phil Parkinson says finishing third won't take the shine off securing back-to back promotions for the first time in the club's history.

The Reds, guaranteed a top-three finish with two games to spare after thrashing Forest Green Rovers 6-0 a fortnight ago, complete the campaign against champions Stockport County at The Racecourse tomorrow.

With a place in League One guaranteed, there was no let-up as Wrexham beat play-off contenders Crewe Alexandra 3-0 last weekend to make it four wins in a row.

That keeps Wrexham third in the table on the same number of points as second placed Mansfield Town who boast a superior goal difference and are away to seventh-placed Barrow, who need a win to make sure of extending their season.

Runners-up spot is still up for grabs but Parkinson just wants the Reds to give another good account of themselves against Stockport and try to finish another memorable season on a high.

"We are happy with the promotion," said Parkinson.

"If we get second, great, if we are third then obviously we are delighted with that as well.

"It is more about finishing the season off well, getting to the summer and regrouping.

"Against Stockport, we just want to perform to the levels we performed against Crewe.

"We spoke to the lads about finishing our away form off with a good performance, and you factor in that Crewe had a lot to play for.

"We are pleased to go into the summer with another convincing away win under our belts, now the challenge is can we put on a performance in front of our home fans to go into the summer and we will be endeavouring to do that against a very good Stockport side."
