ANDY CANNON is the man to sign if you want to win promotion.

The 28-year-old arrived from Hull City in December 2022 having won the National League title during a loan spell with Stockport County the previous season.

He repeated the feat with the Reds following a record-breaking 2022-23 campaign and then helped Phil Parkinson's men secure a top-three finish in League Two this term.

That’s three promotions in as many seasons and Cannon admits that he’s loving life at Wrexham.

“It feels good,” said Cannon, who is in the running to be Wrexham’s player of the season.

"Three years on the bounce is something to celebrate and to do back-to-back promotions with Wrexham is nice.

"To get out of League Two at the first time of asking, I am buzzing for everyone at the club to get promotion. It is a tough league to get out of."

Cannon also had stints with Rochdale and Portsmouth before moving to Championship outfit Hull and his first ever season in League Two has proved to be a successful one.

"This season is the first time I have played in League Two," he said. "To get promoted in my first season in League Two is good and I am back in League One now.

"We know it is a very tough league. I was at Portsmouth and we didn't manage to get over the line and get promoted when I was down there which was unfortunate.

"I am buzzing for everyone down there that they have got promoted as well because it is a massive club and a great club."

Cannon is under contract at The Racecourse until the end of the 2024-25 season and he he couldn't be happier.

"I am at Wrexham and I am enjoying my football," said Cannon. "I love the club and am buzzing to be here."

Promotion was clinched with two games to go but there was no let-up from Wrexham who beat Crewe Alexandra 3-0 at Gresty Road on Saturday in their penultimate fixture.

It was the fourth victory in a row and Cannon, who scored the third goal, wants the winning theme to continue when the Reds host champions Stockport County on the final day this Saturday.

"We didn't want to take our foot off the gas and wanted to end the season well," he said.

"That is what we did at Crewe. I thought we were superb.

"When you go into a game, you want to win it and we want to win against Stockport as well."
