AUTOMATIC promotion is in the bag but Phil Parkinson says Wrexham will remain professional in the final two games of the League Two season as they aim to sign off on a high note.

The Reds thrashed Forest Green Rovers 6-0 at home last Saturday and secured a top-three finish after MK Dons and Barrow lost against Mansfield Town and Gillingham respectively.

Promoted for a second year in a row after winning the National League title following a record-breaking 2022-23 campaign, Wrexham take on local rivals Crewe Alexandra at Gresty Road tomorrow before facing champions Stockport County at The Racecourse next Saturday.

The clash with Crewe kicks-off at 12.30pm so Wrexham will have an overnight stay, a sign that Parkinson won't allow the Reds to take their foot off the gas despite already booking their place in League One.

"We will always be professional anyway because it is very important for the integrity of the division," he said.

"We will get the preparation right. It is an early kick-off so we are going overnight, we are doing it properly.

"We will be looking to give a good account of ourselves against Crewe and seeing all our supporters there, I am sure it will be a party atmosphere. We will go and finish the season off as well as we can."

Crewe's automatic promotion challenge faded over the last couple of months but the Railwaymen are fifth in the table and on course to secure a play-off spot.

"A few weeks ago Crewe were a team challenging for the top-three, they have dropped off but they have done well this season," added Parkinson.

"They will be a little bit frustrated they have dropped off the top-three, you would think they have got enough to get in the play-offs but there's still going to be a lot on the game.

"Like always, we want to go there and give a really good account of ourselves."
