CLINCHING automatic promotion was the priority but Elliot Lee hasn't given up on winning the League Two title while it is still mathematically possible.

Wrexham thrashed Forest Green Rovers 6-0 at The Racecourse on Saturday to guarantee a top-three finish with two matches to go.

Sill second in the table after registering a third successive victory on a momentous week, Phil Parkinson's men are four points behind leaders Stockport County who have also gone straight up to League One and visit Notts County tonight in their game in hand where a win would secure the championship.

The Reds head to local rivals Crewe Alexandra in their penultimate fixture on Saturday before playing host to Stockport on the final day of the season.

The Hatters, who entertain Accrington Stanley this weekend, could be crowned champions by the time they head to north Wales on April 27.

Lee, who has scored 16 goals and was named in the League Two Team of the Season, admits sealing a second promotion in a row was the objective but he is still aiming for top spot.

"There are two games to go and if we can catch Stockport and win the league, that is what we have wanted all season," he said.

"We have all had that in our sights to win the league, we want to be champions.

"It might be a little bit too far ahead of us but we will enjoy getting promotion, we would have taken that at the start of the season.

"We've got two games to go, it's Crewe and Stockport so they are derbies and they will be good games.

"I think everyone is just relieved and so happy that all our hard work has paid off, and we got over the line on Saturday."

After clinching the National League title following a record-breaking 2022-23 campaign, the Reds players continued the promotion celebrations on an all-expenses-paid lavish bash in Las Vegas, with Hollywood owners Ryan Reynolds and Rob McElhenney funding the trip.

McElhenney has hinted that the squad could return to America this summer and Lee made the request for another trip to Sin City.

"We usually get a message from Ryan after a game," he added.

"I am sure he will message soon enough, I'm sure they both will to be fair but we will just tell them to fire up the jet for Vegas!"
