GOALKEEPER Jack Fisher and Wrexham Schools U14s team-mate Kai Crofts have been picked to play for Wales Schoolboys against England Independent Schools.

They both impressed in a 7-0 victory over Gwynedd where Rhosnesi High pupil Crofts hit a hat-trick to go with a double from Nataniel Rakowiecki (St Josephs) and one apiece from Theo-Riley Spray (Maelor, Penley) and Leo Brooks (Darland).

After a long injury, Osian Hamnett (Clywedog) slotted back comfortably into a well-drilled defence.

The U15s edged a close encounter 3-2 against Powys.

Dion Thomas (Rhosnesni) scored twice with influential midfielder Toby Wynne (Clywedog) adding a third.

In the local derby, Rhys Jones (Rhiwabon) and Oli Large (Rhosnesni) scored against Flintshire, who hit a last-minute leveller. Keeper Fisher (Clywedog) also saved a penalty for Wrexham.

The U16s went down 3-0 to Gwynedd but Patrick Mylinarski (Rhosnesni) and Calum Riley (St Josephs) provided the good news, representing Welsh Schools FA in their 2-0 defeat to Australia.

Wrexham coach Dave Evans was part of the Welsh management team.

Wrexham U11s also took on Flintshire in the Tom Yeoman North Competition.

Team Cochion were beaten 1-0 by Hawks, whose winner came from the spot.

It also ended 1-0 in the second game against Eagles. Freddie Edwards (Chirk) got the winner for Wrexham with keeper Ollie Edwards (Wat’s Dyke) having a great game.

It was just as tight for Team Gwyrddion as Miller Powell (Borras) and Louis Davies (Borras) scored in a 2-1 victory against Eagles where Jac Davies continued the impressive keeper theme.

Two goals from Powell and another from Davies clinched a 3-2 win against Hawks where defenders Freddie Evans (Home School), Eden Spender (Borras) and Lucas Greason (Gresford) were all superb.

The away fixture in Conwy resulted in 5-2, 5-2, 7-0 and 9-0 victories, Presto Gray (Gwenfro) scoring four of them.

The U11s and U12s teams also played against Denbighshire.

Team Cochion won 3-1 thanks to Finn Williams (Plas Coch), Noah Hignett (Rhostyllen) and Edwards (Chirk).

They went down 3-0 in their second game while Team Gwyrddion recovered from a 1-0 defeat to win the next one 5-3.

The Reds U12s got off to a 1-0 losing start but Harry Davies (Darland) starred in a 2-1 victory against Bishops.

The Dragons U12s were held 1-1, with Toby Owen (Rhosnesni ) on target while Jack Mario Lamb (Rhosnesni) fired in four goals and Josh Jones(Grango) scored the other in a 5-3 success.

The U12s also played Ynys Mon SFA away, winning seven and drawing one out of the eight games.
