PAUL MULLIN hailed Wrexham's brilliant backing but the striker says fans chanting ironically about the Reds' away record does nothing to help the players.

Mullin spoke out after bagging his 100th goal for the club as Phil Parkinson's men came from behind to beat Colchester United 2-1 at The JobServe Community Stadium on Saturday to give the League Two automatic promotion push a boost.

Although they boast the second best home record in the division, it has been well documented that Wrexham have been less impressive on their travels this season, with the Reds currently 5th in the away form table.

Mullin can't understand why supporters would chant about the record on the road.

"They travel everywhere supporting us and the support they give us is brilliant," said Mullin, who will be looking for another win in the quest for a top-three finish when second placed Wrexham host play-off contenders Crawley Town this evening.

"But one thing I never want to hear them singing again is about us not winning away from home.

"What do they think that does to the players who are on the pitch representing their team?

"I know it is all about fun and games and they deserve to have a good time when you are travelling and paying your hard-earned money to come and watch us.

"Some of the lads have been speaking about it and they don't really like to hear that but the support from them was unbelievable.

"Hopefully they are ready to go again for us on Tuesday night because we will need them from no until the end."
