WREXHAM and Cardiff City are set to become familiar opponents over the coming weeks.

Bringing the curtain down on the Adran Premier League season, the clubs will meet at the Cardiff City Stadium this Sunday.

Then, a few weeks down the line, there’s another encounter between the sides, this time in the final of the Welsh Cup at Newport’s Rodney Parade on May 5.

An exciting end to the Reds’ first season back in the top flight is in store and Rebecca Pritchard is hoping there some silverware at the end of it.

Pritchard was one of the scorers in last week’s 3-0 win over Aberystwyth, which was the Reds’ final home match of the season and she told the club’s YouTube channel: “We’ve had some really good games here. I think just looking back at the whole season, we wanted to get top-four and we’ve got third place and quite comfortably in third place as well.

“So, really, really pleased with the season how it’s going so far and hopefully we can try and get a little bit of silverware at the end in the cup.”

Wrexham haven’t yet managed to get the better of league champions Cardiff this season and they will be aiming to change that over the next couple of games.

Swansea City, guaranteed the runners-up spot, end their league campaign at Aberystwyth on Sunday.

The two sides met on Wednesday with Monet Legall scoring the Swans’ goal in a 1-1 draw.

Greg Draper’s The New Saints, assured of a fifth-placed finish, will end their programme with a trip to bottom-of-the-table Pontypridd in the Adran Premier Plate section.

In the other match, Barry Town United will play host to Cardiff Met, with the losers set to finish the season in the bottom-two.

There’s one Adran North match on Sunday as Y Felinheli host Bangor.

In the North East Wales League, Bellevue pay a visit to Welshpool and Berriew are at home to Denbigh.

Wales Women’s U19s celebrated a 2-0 victory over Lithuania on Wednesday night. Amy Richardson and Tianna Teisar got the goals.
