PAUL MULLIN admits there is pressure on him to continue delivering the goods after playing a prominent part in Wrexham's success story but the striker is not fazed by the high expectations.

The 29-year-old has been revelation since arriving at The Racecourse on a free transfer from Cambridge United in the summer of 2021.

Top scorer in his first two seasons with the Reds, earning him host of awards, Mullin helped Phil Parkinson's men clinch the National League title following a record breaking  2022-23 campaign.

Although he missed the start of the current League Two season through injury, Mullin has picked up where he left off and scored his 18th goal in Saturday's 3-1 win at Grimsby Town which keeps third placed Wexham on course for a second successive promotion.

Mullin, preparing for tomorrow's top of the table clash against leaders Mansfield Town at The Racecourse, is the Reds' go-to man but it's something he thrives on.

"Obviously I have gained a reputation over the last few years," said Mullin, who has scored a total of 97 goals for Wrexham.

"Sometimes it does feel like it's a lot of pressure on me to deliver.

"But also, I put that pressure on myself, to be the one to try and turn it around or to be the one to get the goal and help the team.

"I think that's where I thrive, being under pressure. I really enjoy being in those situations, especially when you overcome them.

"It's something that I embrace and something that I love doing.

"If you haven't got pressure in your job then you're not doing the right job."
