IT’S knockout ice hockey from here on in for the in-form Deeside Dragons.

Dragons brought the curtain down on the regular season with a 6-1 victory at home to Widnes Wild, which makes it a run of seven consecutive triumphs heading into what promise to be thrilling NIHL Division One North play-offs.

James Parsons, Ross Kennedy (pictured above), Brodie Jesson (2), James Shaw and Jakub Hajek were the scorers in Deeside’s latest triumph.

The competitive play-offs get underway this weekend and Deeside have been paired with Whitley Warriors, who got the better of them in last season’s play-off tilt.

“There’s no easy tie for anyone in the play-offs,” said Dragons’ assistant head coach Matt Compton ahead of a huge weekend.

“If we don’t turn up with the right game, our season is over.”

Deeside’s home leg takes place on Saturday, prior to the Dragons’ trip to the North East 24 hours later.

Ice Sheffield will be the venue for the NIHL Division One North play-off finals, which will be held on the weekend of April 6 and 7.

To mark what has been a memorable campaign on the ice for the club, Deeside Dragons will be holding its end-of-season awards at St David’s Hotel, Ewloe on Saturday, May 4.
