WREXHAM face a “massive” game this evening as they aim to halt their losing sequence in the Adran Premier League.

The Reds have lost three matches on the bounce to open phase two of their top flight campaign and they will be looking for a positive outcome from tonight’s trip to Aberystwyth Town.

Lili Jones, who scored a stunning 40-yard trip in Sunday’s 3-2 loss to Swansea City at the STōK Cae Ras, told the club’s YouTube channel: “Wednesday’s massive for us, you know. We need to put three defeats on the bounce to bed there.

“Nothing but a win from Wednesday and I think all the girls think the same.

“So, hopefully we’ll put on a performance there and take the three points.”

Jones and Rosie Hughes got the goals as the Reds pushed title-chasing Swansea close in their last encounter, however Ellie Lake’s stoppage time goal settled things in favour of the visitors.

“Of course I’m proud,” added Jones. “I’m always proud putting the Wrexham shirt on.

“I think we all gave 110 per cent and, somehow, they ended up taking the three points. But, plenty of positives to take into a midweek game and hopefully we’ll put Aber to bed and take some positives from phase two.”

After the loss to Swansea, Wrexham boss Steve Dale said: “Aber will be looking to target us at home.

“They’ll think that they can obviously pick up three points against us, so we’ve got to go there with a mindset that if we play like we did today and bits of the Cardiff game, someone’s going to get a bit of a beating off us.”
