THINGS were just fan-tastic as North Wales Crusaders made a triumphant start to their League One campaign.

Supporters put in the effort to make sure they cheered the team on to a 40-16 victory at Cornwall in their first league contest of 2024.

A post on North Wales Crusaders’ Facebook page said: “Just the 746 mile round trip for #NWCrusaders fans this afternoon!

“Nothing comes close to your amazing support, both here in Cornwall and from afar!”

This was a viewpoint echoed by player-coach Carl Forster, who said: “Huge credit to the fans that travelled to Cornwall. They were loud and proud all game, as always.”

It was a good day for Forster and Toby Hughes, who claimed a brace of tries apiece in the success.

Looking at the immediate future and supporters won’t have too far to travel to cheer on their team over the next couple of weeks.

“We have got two home games on the bounce,” added Forster. “It will be good to get back at home and have that solid foundation this season.”

The run of home matches opens with this Sunday’s clash against Midlands Hurricanes at Colwyn Bay’s Stadiwm CSM.
