IT’S nearly two years since Grimsby ended Wrexham’s promotion dream.
Phil Parkinson and his players responded in the best possible fashion, clinching the National League title following a record-breaking 2022-23 campaign.
The Reds have gone from strength-to-strength at a higher level and are in the promotion picture going into the business end of the League Two season.
Despite the wobble over the last two games, where Wrexham took just one point and failed to score in The Racecourse double-header against Harrogate and Tranmere, Parkinson’s men remain well-placed in the quest for a top-three finish.
There are eight games remaining, starting with tomorrow’s clash against a Grimsby side who need points of their own to avoid a return to non-league.
Wrexham are still up there despite failing to win two-winnable home games but they can’t afford too many more off-days if they want to go straight up.
It’s still all to play for and now is the time for the Reds to step up to the plate.
