LUKE YOUNG refuses to feel down-in-the-mouth after going two games without a win because Wrexham remain well-placed in the promotion race.

Phil Parkinson's men were held to a goalless draw by Harrogate Town and then had another frustrating outing at The Racecourse after losing 1-0 to local rivals Tranmere Rovers on Saturday.

But Wrexham remain third in League Two, five points adrift of leaders Mansfield Town and one behind second placed Stockport County who have a game in hand, while the Reds are on the same tally as MK Dons in fourth who have played a match more.

There are eight fixtures remaining in the quest for a top-three finish and Young says the Reds should be upbeat with so much left to play for.

"We have got to dust ourselves down," said the Reds' captain.

"You can evaluate things all you want but the gaffer was pleased with how we played and how we approached both of those games.

"They are done now. We can't do anything about it now.

"We are still sitting in third spot and in a strong position. Ultimately it is in our own hands.

"We have got to take the positives and go into the run-in fully focussed and fully reset."
