OLLIE PALMER does not believe Wrexham's away form is "as bad as people make out" but the striker is still looking for an improvement during the run-in to give the automatic promotion challenge a boost.

Phil Parkinson's men have the second best home record in League Two behind MK Dons and that has been the platform for the Reds' push for a top-three finish.

Although they have picked up less points on the road, Wrexham sit a respectable eighth in the away table with six wins, seven draws and six defeats from 19 matches on their travels.

The Reds, who continue the quest for a second successive promotion against Grimsby Town at Blundell Park tomorrow, came from behind to win 3-1 in their last away match at Morecambe a fortnight ago.

Palmer feels Wrexham, who are currently third in the fourth tier, can be satisfied with their form away from The Racecourse although the striker accepts it could be better.

"I don't think our away form is as bad as people make out," said Palmer.

"If you are going to refer to yourselves as one of the top teams in the league, obviously we want it to be right up there but we are probably about seventh or eighth in the form table - it is not horrendous.

"We know we have got to better that if we want to get to where we want to get to.

"We have got fantastic home form but you can't have everything; it was great to get three points against Morecambe."
