THE Racecourse has been a fortress over the last few seasons but it hasn't felt like that over the last two games when the promotion push has taken a dent.

Wrexham dominated both matches in the last week against Harrogate Town and Tranmere Rovers but only taken one point from a possible six and it's been the same problem in the back-to-back home fixtures.

Phil Parkinson's men have had the majority of possession but lacked a cutting edge in the final third and struggled to create clear cut chances.

In Saturday's derby, local rivals Tranmere took an early lead and solid defending ensured they left with three points as Wrexham drew a blank once again.

Here's how the players rated:

ARTHUR OKONKWO: Didn’t have a lot to do but was beaten for the only goal of the game. 6

RYAN BARNETT: The crossing from wide areas needed to be better. 6

MAX CLEWORTH: Solid display and the young defender is showing what a bright future he has got. 7

EOGHAN O’CONNELL: Also did well once again. Like Cleworth, he’s take his chance in the centre. 7

WILL BOYLE: All three centre-backs did what was asked of them as Tranmere had few chances. 7

JACOB MENDY: Got into some good positions but Wrexham lacked an end product. 6

LUKE YOUNG: Back in the side and was having a decent game in midfield before going off. 7

ANDY CANNON: Will be disappointed with the goal but kept going and made vital goalline clearance 6

ELLIOT LEE: It just isn’t happening at the moment for Lee but he isn’t on his own. 6

PAUL MULLIN: It was a frustrating afternoon for Wrexham’s key player but lack of service didn’t help. 6

STEVEN FLETCHER: Tranmere defended well and he was restricted to a couple of half-chances. 6

SUBSTITUTES

OLLIE PALMER: Lively when he came on to bolster attacking options. 5

SAM DALBY: Had a couple of chances he might have done better with. 5

JORDAN DAVIES: It was tough going for the Reds. 5

LUKE BOLTON: Tried to make inroads down the right when he came on. 5

TOM O’CONNOR: It was good to see him back. 5
