STEVE DALE is tipping Wrexham to keep getting better and better as they continue their development.

The Reds’ boss has helped to guide the side into the Adran Premier top-three in their first season since gaining promotion and there’s another big contest this Sunday as Wrexham host leaders Cardiff City.

It’s a dress rehearsal for the Welsh Cup final in early May and Dale has been focusing on the side’s development over the last few years.

He told the club’s YouTube channel: “I think we’ve been on a really good journey. You know, we take every day, day-by-day and we’ve had so much support and a lot of sort of change over the last couple of years.

“But, it’s a fantastic feeling (reaching the Welsh Cup final). It’s only going to get better the more that we’re together.

“The group’s getting stronger and stronger, so absolutely delighted. I’m looking forward to that final.”

This will be Wrexham’s fourth meeting with Cardiff this season and they’re yet to get the better of the title favourites.

Wrexham opened phase two of the season with a narrow 3-2 loss at Swansea, where Amber Lightfoot and Carra Jones got their goals.

The other Adran Premier Championship fixture on Sunday sees Swansea City at home to Aberystwyth.

Adran Premier Plate: Barry v The New Saints; Pontypridd v Cardiff Met.

While their hopes of claiming the Adran North title look to be over, Connah’s Quay Nomads will want to end their campaign on a high, starting with Sunday’s home clash with Bangor.

Airbus travel to Llanfair United and the match of the day sees second-placed Y Felinheli at home to leaders Llandudno.

Other fixture: NFA v Rhyl 1879.

In the North East Wales League, champions Flint Town United host Welshpool and Bellevue entertain Denbigh. Tonight’s Adran U19s’ North League action will see Wrexham away to The New Saints.

Wrexham’s Welsh Cup final against Cardiff City will be played at Newport’s Rodney Parade on Sunday, May 5 (5.25pm).

It will be the first time that Rodney Parade – home to EFL League Two side Newport County AFC and United Rugby Championship team Dragons RFC – has hosted the final of either of Wales’ most prestigious cup competitions.

Nick Davies, FAW senior competitions manager, told the FAW website: “Taking the finals to one of our premier venues in Wales offers us the chance to give our prestigious Welsh Cup competitions the prominence and profile they deserve.”
