PHIL PARKINSON believes Tranmere Rovers will be on a high following their midweek exploits but he is looking to give Wrexham supporters another derby win to celebrate at The Racecourse tomorrow.

The Reds continued their League Two promotion challenge with a goalless draw at home to Harrogate Town on Tuesday.

Although it wasn't a third successive win, Wrexham moved up to second in the table and just two points behind leaders Mansfield Town who were beaten 2-1 by Tranmere, although Stockport - down to third and one point adrift of the Reds - were back in action against Salford City last night.

Parkinson expects Rovers  to be buoyed by that result but he is looking for a repeat of Wrexham's 1-0 win when the sides met at Prenton Park in September and continue the quest for a top-three finish.

"It was a great result beating Mansfield and Tranmere will be lifted," said the Reds' boss, whose side have nine fixtures left in pursuit of a second successive promotion.

"But we are on a good run of form ourselves and we look forward to the weekend.

"Derby games are great and the match at Tranmere was a hard-fought win.

"We had a lot of dominance in that game and got the goal from a set-play with Aaron Hayden, and it was a great atmosphere.

"Hopefully we can reward our supporters again at the weekend."

Wrexham will be without James McClean who was shown a 10th yellow card of the season against Harrogate and will now serve a two-match ban.

The cut-off point was after Tuesday's game but McClean was booked by referee Matt Corlett following a second half foul.

"It is frustrating for us," said Parkinson.

"I watched this referee in action between Morecambe and Crawley a couple of weeks ago, he gave eight yellow cards in a game with hardly any tackles so I did fear that.

"But the one James got booked for was probably deserved."

McClean has been playing in midfield with George Evans and James Jones both missing through injury.

When asked whether the duo are closing in on a return, Parkinson added: ""Not for the weekend."
