PHIL PARKINSON couldn't fault his players' effort after Wrexham were held to a goalless draw by Harrogate Town at The Racecourse.

It was a frustrating evening for the Reds who dominated the game but lacked an end product and struggled to break down mid-table Sulphurites, who boast the second best away record in League Two.

Wrexham, who are top of the home table, were unable to pick up another win in the promotion push but Parkinson's men moved up to second in the table, two points behind leaders Mansfield who lost 2-1 at Tranmere, although Stockport, Crewe and MK Dons remain in the hunt for a top-three finish.

"I think we did a lot of things right," said Parkinson.

"We dominated the game but the crossing was not the standard it needed to be to create enough chances but we still had enough moments to have won the game.

"I thought the lads gave everything. There was nothing left out there but we just couldn't find that killer moment to open the game up.

"We know Harrogate have done well away from home all season; they sit in and make it difficult, they worked hard and you have got to give them credit for that.

"But it was a game, on the balance of play, we should have won comfortably.

"Sometimes you don't get what you deserve but I can live with that because the lads have given us so much.

"We are not saying it was fantastic; the quality levels could be better and we got better, but we just couldn't produce a moment of real quality to win the game.

"We practically pinned them in for the whole of the second half - I don't think Harrogate had a shot all night."
