LIV FULLER has hailed the team spirit in the ranks after Wrexham booked their place in the final of this season’s Welsh Women’s Cup.

Steve Dale’s Reds will tackle Cardiff City in the showpiece final in early May after they battled to a 1-0 win over The New Saints in the semi-finals.

Rosie Hughes’ goal towards the end of the first half settled the tie.

Fuller, gradually getting closer to full fitness following a long-term injury, told the club’s YouTube channel: “It’s massive and I think we’re very lucky as a squad that we all get on.

“It’s more of a family than a squad, if I’m honest, and I’m new coming in, on the back of an injury, which has been a very long injury.

“But I feel like I’ve just slotted in and I feel like I’ve been part of the team for years, which makes the team even more special than they are. So, very lucky.”

Fuller played 45 minutes in the semi-final, following on from a run-out of half-an-hour in the recent friendly with Stourbridge.

“I said last week, you know, although it was only a friendly, I was so overwhelmed playing and then again this week, obviously, semi-final, massive game,” she added.

“The girls and the staff, we had the nerves, but that just drove us to get the win.

“I’m very lucky to get my 45 (minutes) today. I’m excited to push on and get more minutes next week, hopefully.”
