PHIL PARKINSON says says high-profile visits have been special but insists it won't affect what happens on the pitch.

The Reds go into tomorrow's League Two clash against Morecambe at The Mazuma Stadium on the back of last Saturday's brilliant 4-0 home win over Accrington Stanley.

Twenty-four hours before the clash there was a royal visit with Prince William stopping off at The Racecourse on St David's Day.

Wrexham has been thrust into the limelight and attracted global publicity since Hollywood stars Ryan Reynolds and Rob McElhenney became owners three years ago - the latter attended the Accrington victory - and there has been no shortage of high profile visitors to the club , something that Parkinson has welcomed.

"It was incredible," Parkinson, who also met King Charles on a Racecourse visit last season, said about the royal visit. "We have been very fortunate here to have days like that and it was a very special day to meet the future King.

"We have had so many different people at The Racecourse to meet the lads and it is a very special club to be a part of because of that.

"It is important we enjoy that but we perform well on the day like we did on Saturday.

"I think Rob McElhenney being here and Humphrey Ker being here as well just helped lighten the mood around the place because there was a little bit of frustration creeping in that we hadn't won at Forest Green.

"I felt there was a nice freshness about us and it showed in the performance."

Wrexham head to Morecambe sitting third in the table, three points behind leaders Mansfield Town and on the same tally as second placed Stockport County but two ahead of Crewe Alexandra and MK Dons who sit fourth and fifth respectively.
