FOUR successive defeats is unheard of in recent seasons so it was vital to stop the rot at Sutton on Tuesday.
It was far from pretty but victory was all that mattered and Wrexham are back on track in the quest for promotion.
Winning became a habit last season when the Reds battled it out for the National League title with Notts County, and Phil Parkinson’s men came out on top, and it will have to be the same in the final 16 fixtures.
Wrexham are well-placed despite the barren run and the competition is fierce with a number of teams in the race for a top-three finish and automatic promotion.
No-one will be getting carried away after beating lowly Sutton but grinding out three points is such a boost heading into tomorrow’s home game with Notts County who have lost ground but are still pushing for at least a play-off spot.
Then Wrexham have three successive away games and that’s when the Reds will really have to prove their promotion credentials.
OUR PREDICTIONS:
WREXHAM 3 NOTTS COUNTY 2 NICK HARRISON
WREXHAM 2 NOTTS COUNTY 1 RICHARD WILLIAMS
WREXHAM 2 NOTTS COUNTY 0 SHAUN DAVIES
SCORES SO FAR...RICHARD WILLIAMS 34; SHAUN DAVIES 32; NICK HARRISON 28
