NORTH Wales Crusaders sit things out in the 1895 Cup this weekend.
Crusaders began their campaign with a 40-12 loss to Swinton and will keep a close eye on Sunday’s group clash between Swinton and Widnes. Cru grabbed tries through Pat Ah Van and Ben Evans and player coach Carl Forster was pleased with his side’s showing after the interval.
“I said to the lads straight after there’s a lot of good bits,” said Forster. “I think second half - what was it - three, four tries-to-two with 12 men.
“We showed that we can play, but it’s probably end of sets, fine tuning our attack. So, we’ll watch the video back, but I said to the lads that doesn’t define us.”
Sunday’s other ties: Whitehaven v Barrow; Dewsbury v Bradford Bulls; York Knights v Wakefield Trinity; Rochdale Hornets v Halifax Panthers; Batley Bulldogs v Featherstone Rovers; Doncaster v Sheffield Eagles.
