WHILE we’re not a fan of defeats, we have to admit that Wrexham’s response to losses is always positive!

After the 5-3 opening day defeat to MK Dons at The STōK Cae Ras, the Reds defeated League One Wigan Athletic on penalties in the League Cup in their next contest.

It was a bad day at the office for Phil Parkinson’s side when they were hammered 5-0 at front-runners Stockport County, but the 10-man Reds showed so much mettle in their next contest as Steven Fletcher’s 95th minute strike secured a point from a thrilling 3-3 draw against Crewe Alex.

Wrexham then embarked on an 11-match unbeaten run in all competitions, which came to a halt in a 2-0 reverse at Accrington Stanley.

The response?

Well, Wrexham went on to put Morecambe to the sword in a 6-0 outcome, which moved the Reds back up into the top-two in the standings.

Hopefully this will spark another lengthy unbeaten run for Parkinson’s promotion-seekers... but at least we know there’s no need to panic when further defeats arrive over the course of the campaign!
