THERE are two more reasons to be cheerful for the North Wales Crusaders!

With preparations for the 2024 League One campaign continuing at a pace, Cru have secured the services of Paul Nash and Shaun Costello for next season.

Nash signed for Crusaders in 2022, but injuries meant he only made six appearances last season.

He told the club's website: "Happy to sign again for 2024. Was a tough season personally with injury last season so I’m determined to make next season better for both the club and myself.

"I can’t wait see all the fans again carrying on from where they left off bringing the atmosphere to every game."

Cru player-coach Carl Forster said: "Great to get Nashy on board again.

"He had a very disruptive season last year getting a bad injury in pre-season but hopefully with a good pre-season and him staying fit he can add real value to the team.

"He’s quick out of nine and has a great skill set. He brings a different dynamic to the team so it will be good to see him fit and ready to go."

Costello also joined North Wales in 2022 and he scored one try in 17 appearances last season.

"I’m buzzing to have signed for another year," said Costello.

"I’m looking forward to trying to go one better than we did last year and look for a promotion spot.

"The fans were amazing last year, especially the last few play-off games, so I’m just looking forward to getting on the field in front of them again."

Forster added "Cozzy is a real impact player, with a big pre-season I'm sure he can become a big part of the team. He's a real hard worker and that’s what we pride ourselves on. He carries strong and has a real good skill set that you want from your middles."
