PAUL MULLIN loves playing for Wrexham and says he feels “invincible” when he takes to the pitch at The Racecourse.

The Reds’ star striker has scored 85 league and cup goals since arriving in July 2021 from Cambridge United, helping Phil Parkinson’s men clinch automatic promotion from the National League last season and return to the EFL following a 15-year exile.

Wrexham have made their north Wales stadium a fortress during the last two-and-a-half years and it’s home-sweet-home as far as Mullin is concerned.

"I love playing football here,” said the 29-year-old.

“I go on the pitch and I do feel invincible at times, especially at home.

“It is a place that I love playing football, especially in front of the fans who love me, and hopefully it continues for a long time.”

With a glut of goals in the bag and having played a key role in the record-breaking promotion campaign, Mullin has become a huge fans’ favourite and the William Aston Hall was packed out for the launch of his autobiography ‘My Wrexham Story’.

Supporters love Mullin, who got a standing ovation when he took to the stage, and the feeling is mutual.

“I have taken them to my heart as well,” he said.

“If I didn’t play for Wrexham anymore at any point, I would go to watch them every week.

“It has become my team.

“I am all-in at Wrexham and I have been since I signed, it has been phenomenal.

“I love this club and my family do, it has become our team.

“They travel all around the country to watch them; that’s not just because of me, I was out injured and they wanted to go to the game to support the lads.

“We have taken to the fans like they have taken to me. It’s hand in hand, I love them and at the minute they love me.

“It can all change but it won’t from my point of view, I love it here.”

Mullin, whose book hits the shelves tomorrow, added: “Obviously the fans speak for themselves, they are phenomenal with the support they have given me ever since I signed.

“The fans have been unbelievable. It is all thanks to them, they are the people who have been really interested in this book coming out and have paid money to listen to me talk rubbish!

“Even though it is all true and really interesting for them, it is something that is really touching.”
