THINGS were absolutely fabulous as Chester completed a cracking comeback to defeat Peterborough Sports 3-2 in National League North.

The Blues recovered from a two-goal deficit at the Leap76 Stadium, capped off by an 86th minute winner from Academy graduate Reece Daly.

Boss Calum McIntyre told Chester FC TV: “Fabulous moment for him, fabulous moment for his family.

“Fabulous moment for the Academy and for the football club.

“I was really pleased, gave my mate Mr Allcock (Academy head coach Mike) a big hug when he scored and then went back for another - we had two!

“I was really, really pleased. I thought he played very well as well. I think he has played well.”

Michael Gash and Josh McCammon had Peterborough Sports ahead, but Chester hit back through Charlie Caton and Adam Thomas prior to Daly’s dramatic late winner.

In further good news, Chester have announced that captain Declan Weeks has signed a new contract to keep him at the club until 2026.

“I am very grateful to be given the opportunity to continue to help drive this club forwards,” Weeks told the club’s website.

“It’s a club that shares the same values as myself and I will work as hard as I can to contribute and try (to) bring it the success that we all want.”
