IT was a tale of two penalties as Chester slipped to a 1-0 National League North loss at Boston United.
Declan Weeks (pictured above) missed a spot-kick for Calum McIntyre’s Blues and within five minutes, Liam Edwards was adjudged to have fouled Keaton Ward inside the box and he was sent off for a second bookable offence.
Martin Woods converted the penalty to secure the win for Boston.
In the opening period, the Blues had a goal disallowed. Cameron Gregory made a mess of a deflected cross and allowed Iwan Murray to score, but referee Jack Hall decided the home keeper had been fouled and awarded a free kick.
McIntyre told Chester FC TV: “We were out on our feet at the end, but I saw a Chester team with 10 men trying to have a right go.
“But that same team put us in that position with a very, very difficult to understand first half performance given how desperate we were for the points today.”
