CALUM MCINTYRE is looking for his Chester team to go a decent run in the FA Cup this season.

The Blues, who were denied a place in the first round proper last season by a penalty shootout loss versus former semi-finalists Oldham Athletic, open their cup quest tomorrow with a trip to Northern Counties East League Tadcaster Albion.

“The cup will be so, so important this year for the football club,” McIntyre (pictured above) told Chester FC TV.

“The players recognise that. We want to deliver for the supporters and the FA Cup gives us that opportunity if we want to earn some rewards.

“After the weekend, on Monday the work will start for Tadcaster, because I’ve been at that level.

“I understand that level.

“I get it. I won’t disrespect that opposition the way that maybe some teams at this level when they came and visited me at my previous club disrespected us.

“We know how tough a challenge it’s going to be.”

The tie, which kicks off at 12.30pm, will be shown live on BBC iPlayer, as well as the BBC Sport website and app.

Nantwich Town, who have ex-Chester City players Paul Carden and Darren Moss as part of their management team, host Banbury United.

Former Blues boss Neil Young, who led Marine to a money-spinning third round tie at home to Tottenham two years ago, takes his side to Spennymoor Town.

Mark Beesley, another former Chester player and now manager at Warrington Town, is looking forward to the visit of Curzon Ashton.

“You can’t really predict the cup,” said Beesley.

“We’ve got a team who beat us 4-1 the other week so it’s not a great draw, but we want a cup run of course.

“It brings confidence, it brings added finance. Everything they bring is positive,
