CARL FORSTER is hoping North Wales Crusaders are able to follow up their “best performance of the season” during what will be another super Sunday.

Crusaders continue their League 1 play-offs quest with a trip to Oldham, following on from last week’s stunning 26-10 success at Workington Town.

Reflecting on that achievement, Forster told the club’s website: “For me, it’s the best performance of the season.”

In an ideal start, a try from Forster plus two successful kicks from Leon Hayes had the Crusaders eight points ahead inside the opening 10 minutes.

Workington, coached by former Crusaders’ chief Anthony Murray, hit back to take a 10-8 advantage into the break, however the second half was all about the Crusaders.

Further tries arrived courtesy of Kieran Taylor, Pat Rainford (pictured above) and Matt Reid.

“I thought our edge D (defence) and go forward was outstanding and, you know, all week I’ve been told that Crusaders can’t win a play-off game and we go there and we do it in quite good fashion.”

Crusaders have now won three in a row and Oldham head into the Boundary Park clash on the back of a 36-0 loss to Doncaster.
