WREXHAM didn’t get the win they wanted at Barrow but there were lots of positives to take from the League Two stalemate.
The Reds dominated the first half and having taken an early lead, should have been out of sight at the break after creating a number of good chances.
Barrow came out fired-up in the second half and equalised but Wrexham, who have leaked goals at an alarming rate this season, held firm to ensure they clinched a point.
There wasn’t a first away league victory to celebrate but if Wrexham play like they did in the first half across the whole 90 minutes, there will be no worries this season.
The defence, along with an assured performance by goalkeeper Mark Howard, looked more solid, the midfield was far more balanced and the Reds would have killed the game off if they had been more clinical.
Some promising signs going into tonight’s home clash against Bradford City when Wrexham target a place in the Carabao Cup third round and a win would be the perfect boost heading into Saturday’s eagerly awaited clash at near-neighbours Tranmere Rovers.
