CAPTAIN George Glendon was on the scoresheet as Chester halted a bad run of results with a 2-0 home win over Farsley Celtic yesterday afternoon.

His header from Declan Weeks’ put The Blues 2-0 up after fellow midfielder Elliott Whitehouse had scored a fifth minute opener.

The victory moves Chester, who have signed striker Connor Evans on a three-month loan from Crewe Alex, up to 15th place in the National League North table.

Manager Calum McIntyre told the club website: “Connor is someone we have nearly brought to the club on loan a couple of times over the last 12 months, but the circumstances have never quite suited all parties.

“I’m really pleased we have been able to get this over the line at a time where we want to continue to add options in forward areas.

“He suits the profile of centre forward we want.”
