HEAD coach Ceri Jones has been pleased with the showings of the RGC youngsters during the pre-season programme.

RGC, who continue their preparations for the Welsh Premiership season at home to Doncaster Knights tomorrow, defeated Sale 35-17 in their latest run-out.

Elis Evans, Charlie Probert, Jordon Liney and Daf Williams were amongst the try-scorers in the victory versus Sale.

Head coach Jones told the RGC website: “To give so many players their debut is testament to the work the pathway is doing here.

“To see the boys come up from U18s to feature is great to see and will be a huge benefit to us.

“The best way for them to develop is to give them game time, and that’s something we will look to do.

“I said before the game that the new 3G pitch will lead to some fast rugby, and you could see that.

“Ollie Wynn came off saying he loved playing on it, so I think it will be providing a foundation for a quick game.”

Wrexham continue their preparations for the return to Division One North when they travel to Birkenhead Park tomorrow. Tonight, Mold Seconds tackle Port Sunlight.
