NORTHOP Hall held their nerve to complete a fine Liverpool Competition triumph.

Hall are now up to fifth in the standings thanks to their two-wicket outcome at home to promotion-chasing Hightown St Marys.

The visitors opted to bat first and opener Matthew White (55) top scored as they were dismissed for 157 in the 64th over.

Ankur Malik grabbed a brilliant 6-23 from 22.3 overs.

Malik's knock of 51 was pivotal as Hall replied with 158 for eight (Michael Williamson 27, Ben Arden 25).

Northop Hall seconds lost out by 129 runs at Wigan seconds.

Chirk lost out by seven wickets in their home Shropshire League encounter with Wroxeter & Uppington.

Skipper James Carter (56) and Simon Rickett (34) helped Chirk to 188 for nine, before the away side replied with 191 for three (Charlie Kidson 78no, Aaron Eccles 62no).

Chirk seconds were pipped by one wicket at Guilsfield seconds.
