MOLD produced the performance of the day in the Premier Division, nailing leaders Northop by five wickets.

Isaac Allen’s unbeaten 51 led Mold, who are battling to stay in the top flight, to 175 for five after bowling out the front-runners for 174.

Thomas Hughes (46) and Andy Poynton (29) threatened to punish Mold with a 54-run seventh wicket partnership but John Crane (3-18) and two wickets apiece from John Williams and Munowar Samsodien stopped that charge.

Captain George Deniz (32) and star man Williams also played their part with the bat for Mold, who moved out of the bottom two.

Northop are now 10 points clear after St Asaph closed the gap after battering bottom-of-the-table Pontblyddyn by 199 runs.

Pont were skittled out for just 64 chasing Saints’ 263 for four. Duncan Midgley smashed 113 for St Asaph and he and Mathew Ryan (78) put on 82 for the opening partnership. Cayo Jones’ unbeaten 22 was the only highlight of Pont’s reply as Ajaypal Singh took 3-12.

Third-placed Brymbo are 17 points off top spot after beating Llandudno by 59 runs.

Brymbo posted 223 for nine at The Oval where Chris Taylor top scored with 82. James Claybrook (43) and Joe Norman (30 not out) also made valuable contributions before Norman’s 4-24 reduced the hosts to 164 all out.

Menai Bridge halted Mochdre’s charge in emphatic fashion as Jack Gower smashed 160 and Dion Holden was unbeaten on 131 as they opening with a 264 first wicket partnership. Menai went on to post 331 for one before bowling fourth-placed Mochdre out for 176.

Gresford hammered Halkyn by nine wickets after bowling the visitors out for 70, in-form bowler Tom Crewe taking 4-7 for Gresford.

Denbigh beat Bangor by seven wickets after the hosts were skittled for 119.

Iroshan De Silva continues to lead from the front for Division One leaders Gwersyllt Park.

If his stunning unbeaten 101 wasn’t enough, De Silva then snaffled 5-6 as Park grabbed the bragging rights at home to neighbours Llay Welfare.

Park posted 201 for five, Jacob Roberts taking 4-41 for Llay, who were then bowled out 110 as De Silva and Neil Pearson (3-12) did the bulk of the damage.

Park are 28 points clear of second-placed Conwy, who beat Bethesda by seven wickets.

Hawarden Park remain in the promotion hunt after seeing off Dolgellau by 87 runs.

Chris Geary’s unbeaten 75 was the highlight of Park’s 197 for seven before Tom Norris took over, taking 4-10.

Northop Seconds were skittled for 97 at Buckley for whom Adam Shaw (3-16) starred in a 44-run victory. Joel Sampson top scored for Buckley with 60.

Mali Auty was too good for Marchwiel and Wrexham, taking 7-27 as the hosts reached only 64 in response to Quay’s 98 all out.

Matt Lawrenson and Sam Shoemark took three wickets each for Marchwiel but 32 from opener James De Toit helped Quay to victory.
