THIS week is going to be a busy one for North Wales cricketers.

The Wales National County (North) senior team is taking on a Cumbria development XI in a 50-over contest at St Asaph today.

Then, on Thursday, North Wales U19s will travel to Moddershall Cricket Club, where they will take on Staffordshire in a pair of T20 encounters.

A 12-strong squad has been selected for the U19s, who will be captained by Brymbo’s Will Norman.

He is joined in the squad by Hawarden Park trio Fabio Franco, Romano Franco and Adam De Rycke, with Gwersyllt Park pairing Cai Pearson and Ralfie Challinor also included.

Elliott Hughes (Llandudno), Charlie Collins (Northop), Mali Auty (Connah’s Quay), Archie Sussex (Denbigh) and Menai Bridge duo Matt Jones and Logan Morgan complete the line-up.

North Wales’ seniors are captained by St Asaph’s Will Ryan (pictured).

Other St Asaph players in the XI are Nathaniel Scott, Matt Ryan and Danny Ryan, with Denbigh duo Harrison Jones and Archie Sussex also included, as well as Mochdre pair Owen Davies and Matt Humphreys.

Jason Foulkes (Nantwich), Jack Parry (Colwyn Bay) and Matt Jones (Menai Bridge) complete the side.

In the North Wales Cricket League’s Sunday East Division, Bersham thirds claimed an 85-run victory in their home meeting with Northop thirds.

Batting first, Bersham were all out for an imposing 230 (Shins Varghese 71, Derick Dineshan 25, Ellis Williams 4-50).

Charley Grieg (34), Nathan Pierce (30) and Ryan Ferguson (20 not out) were the top contributors in Northop’s 145 for seven (Dineshan 3-17).
