CHIRK have demonstrated their battling qualities in Shropshire League action - and they will be hoping for more of the same tomorrow.

Luke Gardner (pictured) and Ed Hayhurst survived 28 deliveries between them as Chirk hung on for a battling draw in their last encounter with Worfield.

That completed an undefeated month for James Carter’s side, who will aim to stretch their unbeaten Division One run at home to Bomere Heath tomorrow.

It’s all about music and fun at Northop Hall tomorrow!

There’s no Liverpool Competition action for the first team, with the club instead hosting Crickfest.

The day, in aid of Wrexham’s Nightingale House Hospice, runs from 12pm until 11pm.

While it’s a weekend off from Division Two action for Hall, it will be a busy July with three games scheduled over the following two weekends.

Reflecting on the season, Hall skipper Carwyn Johnson said: “We have got those three wins on the board. We knew it was going to be tough.

“There’s been ups and downs but we’re pretty content at the moment.

“The league at the moment is very tight. I think we’re 50 points off second place.

“It’s really tight and everyone’s beating everyone.”
