THESE are exciting times at The Racecourse and James Jones summed up the mood when he stated “It’s a good club to be at right now.”

The feelgood factor has returned to Wrexham since Hollywood stars Hollywood stars Ryan Reynolds and Rob McElhenney completed their high-profile takeover of the third-oldest club in the world back in February 2021.

Wrexham’s popularity has soared around the world and expectations are even higher on the football pitch but the players rose to the occasion in a record-breaking 2022-23 campaign, clinching automatic promotion from the National League and return to the Football League following a 15-year absence.

Backed to continue climbing the divisions under the multi-millionaire actors, Wrexham are favourites for the League Two title next season which kicks-off with a home game against MK Dons on Saturday August 5.

Jones acknowledged that he and his team-mates have to keep delivering success but you won’t find the midfielder complaining because he’s enjoying being part of the journey.

“It’s a good club to be at right now,” said the 27-year-old, who has been a regular in the side since joining the Reds from Lincoln City in August 2021.

“Hopefully we can keep that momentum going and that good feeling going.

“The whole city is behind us and we feel that as well.

“Everyone is hoping for more success.

“We all know what the plan is and where the club want to be at in the next few years, so it is down to us as players and staff to try and deliver that because we know we are going to get the backing from the owners and the supporters if we keep giving them something to cheer about.

“It all goes hand in hand.

“Everything is set-up for success, is just actually delivering it.”
