ANOTHER week and another mid-table battle as far as Chirk are concerned in the Shropshire League.
It will be a clash of two in-form Division One sides as fifth-placed Chirk visit Worfield seconds, who are in sixth.
Both teams are on a decent run of form as the season approaches the midway point and Chirk skipper James Carter said: “If you look at form, both had a poor start and then gone on three or four-game winning runs.”
Chirk made it three wins on the spin with last weekend’s 32-run outcome at home to Lilleshall.
After being reduced to 24 for three, a middle order recovery was sparked by a superb 51 from Nick Flack (pictured above) and Carter (34).
Carter stressed: “It was a bit of a team effort. We have got a good team bond and ethos and we bat deep.”
Chirk seconds will continue their Division Eight programme at home to Sentinel thirds.
Northop Hall are on a fine run of form in Division Two of the Liverpool Competition.
With back-to-back triumphs safely secured, seventh-placed Hall will be looking to make home advantage count for the encounter with Sutton (St Helens), who sit second in the standings.
Another Hall win could see them move to within a point of their visitors in the table.
Hall seconds will pay a visit to New Brighton seconds tomorrow.
