WHAT a season it's turning out to be for Brymbo.

The North Wales Cricket League leaders have made it through to the quarter-finals of the Welsh Cup with a six-wicket derby win over Gresford.

Sam Burke's 37 not out helped Gresford to set 166 for six (Dan Parry 2-27).

James Claybrook's sparkling 79 not out and Mohamed Nilam Jayman's run-a-ball 45 saw Brymbo to 167 for four (Mikey Wright 2-38).

Cardiff, Swansea and Newport have also booked their spots in the last-eight of the national competition.

St Asaph's Will Ryan was a part of the Wales National County side that lost out by 18 runs to Dorset in the NCCA Trophy.
