PHIL PARKINSON does not expect any of his star players to be lured away this summer after Wrexham enjoyed a record-breaking season.

The Reds smashed numerous records on their way to clinching the National League title, finishing four points ahead of Notts County who pushed Parkinson’s men all the way in a memorable campaign.

There will be no shortage of interest in Wrexham’s champions after securing automatic promotion and return to the Football League following a 15-year absence.

Only eight players are out of contract this summer with 47-goal leading scorer Paul Mullin among the host of players who have deals going into next season and beyond.

Wrexham, under Hollywood owners Ryan Reynolds and Rob McElhenney, are tipped to challenge for the League Two title in 2023-24 and Parkinson says the bright future at The Racecourse means no-one will want to leave the club.

“I think the lads will want to stay,” said the Reds’ boss.

“To be part of this club at the moment is special so I don’t envisage anybody that is in contract moving on at this stage.

“The lads are all eagerly anticipating next season already.”

The Wrexham players have continued the promotion celebrations in an all-expenses-paid trip to Las Vegas while Parkinson and his staff are in Portugal for their bash.

Four goalkeepers, including Ben Foster and Mark Howard, are among the players out of contract this summer and the Reds’ boss will announce his retained list in due course.

"The lads have been away and I am away this week," he added.

"Hopefully by the end of the week we will have had all the relevant meetings."
